The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and medical associations have confirmed the safety of administering LAAB as a Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) against COVID-19. The Department of Disease Control director has assured the public that LAAB administration is safe and does not cause severe side effects.

In collaboration with the Department of Medical Services and five other medical societies, the Department of Disease Control has updated the guidelines for LAAB administration in Thailand. The new guidelines recommend a dosage of 600 mg for people from risky groups, with redosing at six months.
